Reducing the Appearance of Pores Beauty
Ughhh, pores. Correction: visible pores. To my esthetician’s horror (her name is Cynthia, she owns Illuminata Skin Care, and she’s amazing), I am one of those people who gets right up to the mirror and looks at my skin AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE.
“Ummm, there’s no point in doing that,” she tells me. “If you look at anyone’s skin that close, you’ll see little marks and flaws.” Yes, yes, she’s right and totally reasonable. But now it’s more habitual than anything else. There is something about examining your skin 2mm from the mirror that feels more thorough.
One of the many downsides of getting too up close & personal with your skin–pores look bigger. Every time I see Cynthia, the conversation always comes around to, “so about my pores…”
Well, here’s the info. You can’t change pore size, but regular exfoliation can reduce the appearance of pores. About three months ago I started using her Fruit Enzyme Exfoliating Powder. It is completely effective and has relieved some of my pore anxiety. They definitely seem smaller–and my skin appears smoother and more luminescent.
