Wellbeing Narrative Dr. Junger Interview Habits to Love

I asked Dr. Alejandro Junger for some insight into personal habits that promote his health and wellbeing.  Here’s what he had to say…

“I began practicing this 5-minute meditation many years ago when I was taught this technique by Hugo Cary, a self mastery coach.  It is perfect for those living a busy life. With time and consistency, it makes you calmer and more present all day long.

I have my own infrared sauna at home. It is a great way to break a sweat and detoxify. It is also calming. Many times, I do the 5-minute meditation while in the sauna. My sauna unit is made by a great company, Clearlight.  It fits in any room in your house and plugs into an electric outlet.

Reading…this is something I have been doing for many years. Reading something every day helps me in many ways. Articles, books, magazines, websites, blogs…I mostly read about health and spirituality.

Supplements. This is an important part of my daily routine. My supplement plan changes all the time, depending on what is going on with my health. I design my supplement plan through blood and urine tests, and also try different things I learn about all the time. Currently I am experimenting with ayurvedic herbs from a great company called Organic India. I take their Turmeric formula to reduce inflammation and their Ashwaghanda to recharge my adrenals.

And every day I replace one meal with a shake. This reduces the work of digestion and is a great way to provide my body with easily digestible and absorbable nutrients. I use the protein powder that my company CLEAN designed for daily maintenance. It’s full of vegetable protein, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. I mix it with almond milk, sweeten it with xylitol or dates, and add fruit for extra taste. Sometimes I add avocado to make it thicker and add extra good fats that carry me through lunch and beyond.”
